Hello ClevverTV watchers – I’m your host Joslyn Davis with a complete recap on the TV return of The Vampire Diaries. So did the show live up to all the hype with it’s season two debut? I think the collective answer is a very enthusiastic yes. And if you ask me, a lot of the episode could be summed up in two little sentences. First up – Katherine is quite possibly the most evil thing to hit the CW network. And second – and something I thought I’d never say – Poor, poor Damon…well, sort of. So let’s talk about what went down on the season premier. It picked up right where we left off in the finale of season 1. Katherine is back with an obvious vengeance, but what does she want? Well, judging from what we just saw, you can never be quite sure, although she seems to be saying that it’s not what, but who she wants – and that’s Stephan. Of course, he’s not having any of it. But poor Damon, I think we saw the vulnerable side of him for the very first time when he begged her just tell him the truth. Katherine told Damon that she’d never loved him. It had always been Stephan. Of course in the same episode, K’s doppelganger, Elena, also told Damon she’d never kiss him back, which propelled him to try to kill her brother Jeremy. Damon didn’t “almost” kill Jeremy, Damon snapped his neck in front of Elena and he killed him. The ring brought him back to life. Remember when Damon snapped Vikki’s neck and killed her? Same thing except that when Vikki woke she was transitioning into a vampire.

@EdwardCullenAddicted: Totally agree. I saw someone else post this idea in an article: Is Katherine redeemable? Damon gradually gained some of his humanity back in Season 1, so what about Katherine? To tell you the truth, I never saw this show as a love triangle but more of how Elena’s friendship with Damon brought out his human side. Afterall, Stefan feels “alive” when with Elena.
